Sharing Family Stories interview template
Are you traveling to visit relatives this summer? Do your school-age children need a creative project while they are off school? The Marathon County Historical Society has created a simple template to encourage people of different generations to share stories. Children might “interview” grandparents or aunts and uncles. Adults might find topics here for good conversations with the children they love.
Once you’ve shared a story, younger children might want to draw a picture. Older children might create a “newspaper” to share with other family members. Consider your family’s interests, and come up with a way to extend the experience.
There are expensive books out there and lots of other resources to help you do the same thing. These questions are only a beginning point.
Have fun sharing stories together!
