Background:
Gustave Baesemann was born on March 10, 1855 at South Germantown, Washington County, Wisconsin. His parents were John and Ernestina (Gruel) Baesemann. His father operated a sawmill and farmed on the Big Rib River. Gustave obtained a district school education, and as soon as he was old enough began work in his father's sawmill. Gustave continued to operate a sawmill for many years, later adding a flour mill and a feed mill.
Accomplishments:
Mr. Baesemann owned 800 acres of land in the town of Rib Falls and made many other property investments throughout Wisconsin.
Gustave Baesemann was married on February 15, 1883 to Miss Pauline Salzman, who was born in Manitowoc, WI, and they had four children. Mr. Baesemann was a member of the Odd Fellows.
Gustave Baesemann died on November 4, 1932. He is buried in the family cemetery in Rib Falls, WI.
