Background:
The 1901 plat map of Johnson Twp. shows Charles Kiehl owned S 1/2 of N 1/2 of Section 4. Most of the land in 1882 was owned by lumber companies and it is possible that Brucker was a logging camp. (See also Bruckerville, Holton Twp)
